Our statement on the situation in Ukraine

Recent events of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine have changed the world as we know it in a matter of days. Russia has launched a brazen attack on the people of Ukraine, in violation of international law and basic principles of human decency.

Alumni Association of SSE Riga firmly stands against violence, aggression, and discrimination of any kind.

People of conscience around the world loudly and clearly condemn Russia’s actions and offer support for the Ukrainian people. Our short-term priority is ensuring the safety and wellbeing of SSE Riga students, their families and the alumni network affected by the conflict. We are currently in close contact with the School and the Student Association to identify the needs of students, alumni, and their families, be it financial, emotional, or other support of any kind, and plan to act upon them within our abilities.

Besides immediate help, together with the School, we aim to establish a long-term support mechanism to ensure SSE Riga education is available for all and Ukrainian students continue studying in spite of the war, the related uncertainty and the unavoidable economic hardship that has hit their country and loved ones. Thus, we are launching a designated fundraiser for the current and future Ukrainian students to fully cover their tuition fees.
