As the current board’s term draws to a close, we are excited to open applications for new board members. One of the selected members will also be nominated to serve as the next president of the SSE Riga Alumni Association.
The Candidate Profile
We’re seeking graduates passionate about supporting and enhancing the work of the SSE Riga Alumni Association and the School. This includes collaborating with fellow board members and the SSE Riga administration to assist current students and strengthen the Alumni Community in every possible way.
Responsibilities
- Represent the Alumni Community at the SSE Riga Foundation Board
- Fundraise for and issue Student Scholarships (Admission, Merit, and Need)
- Co-run the Mentorship Program w/ the School
- Co-organize the Homecoming events w/ the School and SA
- Participate in Official Ceremonies and Celebrations
Board Assets as of now
- A legal entity (Biedrība) registered in Latvia, with the status of Public Benefit Organization
- An Executive Director (20h/week) taking care of all things administrative and organizational/coordination
- An SA Alumni Committee – a team of dedicated student task force strengthening ties between the Student body and the Alumni community
- Outsourced Accountancy service provider
- Outsourced Monthly Newsletter content provider (ready to be launched in 2025)
- A long-term, sustainable Contributing Members platform for payments
- Soc.media accounts and groups, you name it…
- And the current Board continues to raise more funds for a stable takeover
Expectations
- Devote at least one hour per week to Association activities
- Attend monthly Board Meetings
- Contribute your expertise and efforts towards the goals of the Association and the wider SSE Riga community, including, strategising, fundraising, event planning, or other relevant fields

What Happens Next?
Mid December: Announcement on December INSIDER issue, the community will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred candidates. To participate, candidates will be asked to submit:
- A photo
- A LinkedIn profile link (or an equivalent record of experience)
- A brief comment, up to 300 characters, supporting their candidacy
Dec 22: The new board members will be announced, determined by majority vote.
TBC: The newly elected board will select a president from among its members.
